Oh, I loved Nigel Slater's A Thousand Feasts . I bought the book, but so many books I haven't read.
I still love the long long drives, so when I need something more than ACDC, I listen to Nigel reading his own book. He has the most soothing reading voice.... and I've finished the book!
He inspired me to start adding the simple day to day joys to my sketchbook, too. Keep well, Lindsay.
Im also reading A Thousand Feasts. A few essays a night after dinner. A little meditation on everyday beauty to end the day. A gentle balm at the moment perhaps. I appreciate your reflection on your observations on beauty, a good gentle prod to do the same.
I respect the conviction of anyone who can avoid memorializing the negative. I'm not sure that's me, but I do relate completely to the need to cherish the positive. We see what we expect to see.
I'm delighted by what you saw in from your car on that busy day in your busy town. The soup looks amazing! I don't have farro at the moment, but I have some locally grown barley (not pearled) that is wonderfully chewy. I think maybe I'll try it with that. Thanks, Lindsay.
Ooh I love this. There’s so much to appreciate in this world. Beautifully written. Thanks so much.
Thank you Beth!
Rainy here in Porto, cosy in my room resting before venturing back out to explore again.. and was excited to see your writing.
