So, I'm reading this to my spouse, get to the part about Claire popping Jamie's arm back into place, and he claps his hands together. "I was just thinking about that scene!"
I don't remember it at all. I guess it hits differently for anyone who's not had a dislocated shoulder. Yeouch! I always knew those pull up bars were not to be trusted!
I love peanut butter, too, eating it by the spoonful more often than my waistline would prefer. Hat tip to Claire Cameron for knowing just what to feed you, and bears. Wow!
Elizabeth, as I was eating a spoonful of peanut butter this morning I thought about how clever Diana Gabaldon was to write a scene where Claire asserts her authority and intimacy is forged, all over a dislocated shoulder. Brilliant!
You had me at peanut butter sandwiches, but then I learned how to relocate shoulders (ouch - be careful!) and then had a pinch of horror at the bear visit! I always wondered why on Alone, they always tell the contestants to yell 'Hey Bear...'. Yikes!!!
Claire reminds us in the book how bears really just stick to themselves, spending their days roaming around, looking for food. It's all they want in life... yikes sounds like me!
I forgot the circumstances of the first shoulder incident -- and I can't believe you can write like this with one hand!
I'm now propped with a pillow and fully functional!
Also, just a spoonful of almond butter. Not quite as good. Do you ever venture in that direction?
I hope it's feeling better. And, as if! I distrust any kind of replacement.

Also, Claire's book is so good. Highly recommend.
You have an impressive family, Lindsay.

Take care of that shoulder Lindsay ♥️
Loved the story, peanut butter on sourdough is my go too, peanut butter cups my weakness.
Thanks for bringing back memories of Big White, also will look for book How to Survive a Bear Attack:)
Thank you
Ah peanut butter cups! My favourite. My boys always wondered where they went after halloween... guilty!
Thanks for the well wishes. It'll be a journey. Wish me luck with the secateurs!
Good luck with the shoulder. Loved the earlier post, the marshmallow sauce and the Outlanders clip. A good read. Thanks so much.
Thanks Beth! Peanut butter will sustain me :)
