I have a Nordic Ware castle bunt pan. When my kids were little, I'd make a chocolate castle and populate it with knights, pirates, dragons, or fairies---whatever the kids were into at the time. Sometimes, because of a few technical errors on my part, the cake wouldn't slip out of the pan easily but would leave a turret or two behind. The second time it happened, I learned 1. to always have a backup cake, and 2. A castle ruin is just as tasty as a castle cake.
