I love the idea of writing down notes/feelings around a recipe to give it more dimension. I know exactly what you mean about acting in character, I also have a vivid memory of a madman party, I felt so character i drunk non stop martinis, it felt right and so glamorous.. until the next day!
You and Amy have been on my mind since listening to the podcast. It was a wonderful conversation to ‘listen in on.’ One of my traveling sons shared recently, the story of his GF cooking a recipe from a recipe journal I gave him before he set off. He complimented her efforts saying how delicious it was (one of her first cooking forays) and touchingly, how when he walked into the house from work it smelt like home. There’s so much emotion in family recipes both the sharing of them and cooking of them.
